Chuprina "An Arrowwood", paper, mixed technique
A very interesting exhibition was opened in the gallery on December 19. Kirovograd collector Vladimir Nagornyi showed a part of his collection. Vladimir is keen on the subject of a Ukrainian way of life for more than 30 years but exhibits his collection for the first time. Every displayed item is original and unique. Such pots, rinkas (an item of Ukrainian kitchen utensils which resembles a pot but has a wider mouth and handle), beehives, Ukrainian cross-stitched towels can’t be found in any collection or in any Ukrainian museum. Except pottery, woodwork and woven items you can see Ukrainian clothes of the end of the 19th – the beginning of the 20th centuries, ornaments, photos, books, labels, folk paintings, interior elements and many other things. The displayed items belong generally to the region of Middle Naddniprianshchina – Kirovograd, Cherkassy and Vinnitsa Regions.
The representatives of Fine Arts and Design Department of Kirovograd State Pedagogical University – Larisa Vladimirovna Garbuzenko and Larisa Aleksandrovna Kulinich spoke enthusiastically about the collection of Vladimir Nagornyi.
