Karkots Vasiliy
Vasiliy Sergeevich Karkots was born on January 1, 1926, in the village Zanovka, Kustanaysk region (Kazakhstan). In 1952 he graduated from Tashkent Art Institute (1947-1952). In 1963 he became a member of Artists’ Union of Soviet Union. The painter is known as a master of still lifes. From 1952 to 1954 he lived and worked in Karelia, then from 1954 to 1975 in Kazakhstan, and in 1975 he moved to Nikopol, Ukraine. Vasiliy Karkots worked in Dnepropetrovsk Organization of Artists’ Union. In 1985 he began to work in Nikolayev Organization of Artists’ Union. In 1961 he began to exhibit his works. He was a participant in international, national, republican and regional exhibitions. His works are to see in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
